Chimichanga. Thats what I wanted as I wandered around Ayala, searching for the oh so beloved Mooon Cafe. Spelled controversially with 3 o's, I was first amazed by this place back when it only had a single location in Cebu. But today, they slacked off.
I ordered a single portion of chimichanga for dine-in, and a simple salad for take out. After about half an hour, they brough me my entire order in a box. I then had to re explain that I only wanted the salad wrapped. Finally, after some more teeth grinding, my order arrived. I was quite surprised by the fact that it was still warm. It wasn't the usual though. I used to remember my Chimichanga quite bigger, and overflowing with delicate spices. But I'm sorry to say that, like most restaurants, Mooon Cafe is starting to bore me slightly with their now rather dull dishes.
Later, I discovered just how distasteful the salad was. Everything was damp and dull, and you could see by the leaves that they were no longer fresh.
My final verdict: Don't follow the common path, and just stick to your true mexican cooking. You're losing that, Mooon Cafe.
TTFN.
