Countless people take any and all measures to improve their sex drive. Taking drugs that treat erectile dysfunction (e.g., Viagra), exercising and maintaining good health, or undergoing some weird surgery are just a few of the things that people do in order to hump and pump and do the mumbo jumbo longer and with more vigor.
Cebu has the best way to increase their sex drive because the methodologies revolve around food! Anything strange to the eyes but a delight to the taste buds such as balut (boiled fertilized duck egg) or lansiao or soup no. 5 (spicy stew made from a bulls reproductive organs) is considered an aphrodisiac. Thus, in Cebu, you do not only get a boost of sexual energy but also a full stomach.
One of the best aphrodisiac meals that Cebu has to offer is bakasi. For the curious, this is a stew made of eel and spices. Tales from old fishermen strongly confirm that the meat of the eel has potent powers and have made them conquer the entire night in bed. Personally, I think its the slippery texture that gives it its magicin the mouth, it feels like . . . well . . . its better not to say the exact word in print. Hahaha!
Other than a bakasis stews aphrodisiac qualities, the meal is also delicious. You can find the best bakasi stews in the municipality of Cordova, a municipality of Cebu (Cordova is a separate island that is connected to Mactan island). Bakasi is extremely abundant in Cordova, and the dishs popularity is effectively boosted through word of mouth. In fact, city officials are aiming to promote bakasi and a culture of livelihood in the area through a festival.
There are many eateries and restaurants that serve bakasi stew, but the most popular one is the nipa/bamboo resto in Kamampay Beach Resort, just a short distance away from the town square. Its easy to get to the placejust ask any trisikad or tricycle driver; everyone knows where it is.
Once in the resto, which is a just like a warm, charming, typical Cebuano carenderia, ask the staff (most likely the owner or a girl in his employ) for a bowl of bakasi. It only costs Php40 per bowl, and the stew is cooked in nilarang style. With native spices, herbs, and black beans, the soup is definitely spicy and delicious. However, you can also opt to have it cooked in paksiw style, the eel simmered in soy sauce. Dont forget to order a plate of corn millet instead of ganador ricesomehow, the stew tastes better with corn. Of course, order a bottle of Coke or any other softdrink or a cold beer to cool yourself down in the tropical heat. After youre done with your order, head out to the nearby cottagesbamboo and nipa shelters erected on stilts over the seato enjoy the view and the sea breeze while waiting for your order.
Now how do you eat the bakasi meat? Some people find it difficult to peel away the meat from the bone. It is actually easyjust scrape off the meat with the edge of your spoon.
The soft meat is actually very tasty but has a funny texture that newbies may find strange and uncomfortable. But dont worry, that strange feeling will pass.
Dont be surprised if, after eating bakasi dish from Kamampay, that you will have the urge to suddenly see your wife or your girlfriend.
