I love Chinese Food. Whenever I crave for Chinese food Harbour City is on top of my list. I know Cebuanos out there too grew up loving to eat in Harbour City especially their Pork Steamed Rice. This dish, which is already a meal in itself, consists of steamed rice packed at the bottom of the bowl with a special sauce (containing some pork, some shrimps and some green peas) poured over it. Mix everything and enjoy this dish! This restaurant is not much of a grandeur , its a casual set-up. You see their waiters roaming around the place with their carts serving fresh and delivered straight from the steamed. Among the other choices, I always go for is their shao mai varieties like mushroom shao mai, shark fin's shao mai, quail's egg shao mai. These varieties though just taste the same what maybe the difference is its toppings. I also love their spring rolls dip to its sweet and sour sauce. Pork dishes are also available and my usual order is the sweet and sour pork since I'm such a fan of sweet and sour dishes. Also the most famous among my friends is the chicken feet. It's funny sometimes when we go nibbling on its bones till no bones are left. Haha! Maybe what so delicious about it is it's chicken skin (pure cholesterol by-the-way) and it's soft bones absorbing all the taste from its ingredients. About the price though they are actually pricey. Almost all of their dishes cost P50.00. Imagine 3 pieces of siomai for P50? But who can resist this sumptuous Chinese cuisine? Whenever we go eat there, I don't know, but the place is really noisy. Maybe because there are just so many customers or because of its set-up itself, maybe they don't intend to have a serene ambiance in the first place. Although surely it is such a best place to get you full. The bottom line here though is for some reason Harbour City is so famous among Cebuanos. Its best for Chinese cuisine. It's like Harbour City has been a tradition. If you intend to visit Cebu and wants to experience Chinese cuisine. Harbour City is a must-try. Harbour City branches are in SM City and Ayala Mall.
